Religion: A Melting Pot for Hate

Hello All,
Recently there are two stories of religion-based hate crimes, Franklin Grahmn said deplorable things about transgender individuals, psychology is a complex subject that not all understand and though Mr. Graham has an associate degree in science, though I could find no information showing he has advanced psychological training. He posted a comment on Facebook advocating for NC HB2 or the "bathroom bill" from the North Carolina House of Representatives, his comment says and I quote directly, " Bruce Springsteen, a long-time gay rights activist, has canceled his North Carolina concert. He says the NC law #HB2 to prevent men from being able to use women's restrooms and locker rooms is going "backwards instead of forwards." Well, to be honest, we need to go back! Back to God. Back to respecting and honoring His commands. Back to common sense. Mr. Springsteen, a nation embracing sin and bowing at the feet of godless secularism and political correctness is not progress.

I’m thankful North Carolina has a governor, Pat McCrory, and a lieutenant governor, Dan Forest, and legislators who put the safety of our women and children first! HB2 protects the safety and privacy of women and children and preserves the human rights of millions of faith-based citizens of this state."

He says the bill sends us backwards, and that "we need to go back! Back to God" and that "I’m thankful North Carolina has a governor, Pat McCrory, and a lieutenant governor, Dan Forest, and legislators who put the safety of our women and children first! HB2 protects the safety and privacy of women and children and preserves the human rights of millions of faith-based citizens of this state." While his concerns are valid, solutions are possible, separate facilities perhaps, for transgender individuals. His reasoning, however, is exceptionally lacking in logical validity, as there is a BASIC civics concept known as Majority Rule, Minority Rights. It says that no matter how large the majority and no matter how large their power, those who are not among them still possess rights. Just because 77% of North Carolina is Christian, 3% non-christian faiths, and only 0.0002 percent is atheist and 0.0003 percent is agnostic per a Pew Research survey doesn't mean that Christians can do whatever they darn well please, they must still consider others, so the fact that the majority of North Carolina is Christian doesn't excuse infractions on the majority of the  minority, a similar situation is the case in terms of transgender individuals, take your pitiful and vile excuse for literature known as the bible out to the dump. The fact that Facebook only banned him and didn't instead delete his account is a pitiful display of their ability to create a civil environment through fear of repercussion.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       The second example of a religiously motivated hate crime is the vandalism a synagogue, while also being a racially motivated hate crime at the same time. Lisa Burns of Cary, North Carolina vandalized the property of her neighbors who happened to also not be of the same skin color as herself with an FU, so there's the racially motivated part, the best part is that she did the same to a synagogue and then broke its windows with bricks, her final act being caught on the doorbell camera. So, guess Jesus ain't preaching love, because it's inferred she's Christian, unfortunately, the maximum penalty she'd be given is a total of 480 days in prison, if I could I'd give her longer.                                                                                                                                                                In conclusion, religion, specifically, the Christian one doesn't seem to be spreading love. Enjoy the New Year!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Yours In Reality,                                                                                                                                                             Darwin Dawkins                                                                                           Classical Liberal                                                                                                                 Independent                                                                                                                                 agnostic atheist                                                                                                                             LGBT+ ally                                                                                                                               Running enthusiast                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Quote of the Post: "If you could reason with religious people, there would be no religious people." - House

5 Questions Atheists Cannot Answer (Answered)

Hello All,    Sorry I haven't posted in a while, between running and schoolwork I've been busier than normal, so here's a new post. So, SJ Thompson, a religious apologist, specifically Christian, has posted 5 questions for atheists, this post is from May of last year, but I just found it today perusing the black hole of doom, gloom, and depression that is the internet.  So her first question is, " So, why do even individualists know that we ought to help the weak, feed the poor, and be honest, humble, just, cooperative, empathetic, forgiving and loving? Why is it that all societies, regardless of their practices, know what we   ought   to do? Where did we get this moral compass?" My answer is a quote from the Greater Good Magazine run by UC Berkley, " We are so used to empathy that we take it for granted, yet it is essential to human society as we know it. Our morality depends on it: How could anyone be expected to follow the golden rule without the ca

A Dissertation of Sorts on Homosexuality

Hello All,     Back in 2015, only four years ago in the historic Supreme Court case Obgerfell v. Hodges, where the Court legalized gay marriage, the Christian right went crazy. Some groups, such as the Westboro Baptist Church have begun protesting at military funerals, a deplorable act, as the families are grieving for the loss of a member they will never see again. In this essay, I will be stating the arguments for gay marriage, and then those against which I shall refute immediately thereafter. For. The arguments for gay marriage fall under equal rights, change in the concept of "traditional marriage",  law, both US and international, the fact that marriage is not simply for procreation, as infertile couples would then be barred from marriage as well. " Denying some people the option to marry is discriminatory and creates a second class of citizens.  On July 25, 2014 Miami-Dade County Circuit Court Judge Sarah Zabel ruled Florida's gay marriage ban unconstit

Well, I Take Some Time Off to Focus on Running for My Team and Everything Goes to Sh*t

Hello All,    Sorry for the very extended hiatus, I had to take some time away from this blog to focus on running for my team, and I hope you will agree that it paid off, as two weeks ago I ran a 9:44 3200 as a freshman to win my league by 8 seconds (for all the non-runners, 1 second is an eternal hell in distance running) the district meet was okay, but not as successful as leagues.    So I take time off from my blogging for my team... and shit has really hit the fan.  Arkansas, Indiana, Alabama, Ohio, Kentucky, Mississippi, Georgia, Utah, Arkansas, Tennesee, and Missouri all passed acute bans on abortion, with Louisianna and many others on track to join the club. I'd like to add that Alabama has more restrictive than most Muslim Majority countries, in Isreal, it's legal and often free to boot. I hope many evangelical supporters of Isreal find this interesting. Source: https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/.premium.MAGAZINE-shhh-don-t-tell-evangelical-supporters-of-israe
