Be Accepting

Citizens of the World,    We must become more accepting, and even though I am an atheist, I find Trump's travel ban to be unconstitutional since the majority of the countries involved are Muslim-majority countries. This makes the travel ban directed primarily towards people of Islamic faith. We also should attempt to help more North Koreans leave the oppressive regime of their native country. In closing, think about it, how would you feel if a country you idolized made it illegal for you to travel there? That's how these countries feel. Yours in Politics and Reality,    D    Moderate Liberal    Agnostic Atheist    Running Enthusiast    LGBT+ Ally BTW This is NOT me condoning illegal immigration.

The BSA (Now Scouts BSA or Something Like That) Needs to be more accepting.

Citizens of the World, Would you agree that Boy Scouts, or Scouting, or whatever you wish to call it, must accept openly atheist and agnostic scouts? Their membership is on the decline so it would be logical to permit open atheists and open agnostics to be members, but no, they are an organization requiring religion involving a deity or higher power, and I am ashamed to be a member of it. I intend to move on through life, and announce my atheism in College, mailing a letter to my current troop informing them of my atheism. It is abhorrent that one must have faith in a deity to be a member of an organization, especially one that claims to build character and develop important skills such as how to cook, or use tools. It's sad to make such a group exclusive of non-religious people, it also doesn't accept people of eastern religions which lack a deity.  Let's end this practice, try to join scouts as an atheist if you are one when they refuse to let you join, say you

President Trump Shouldn't be In the White House

Hello All,  Would you agree that President Trump is a misogynistic, scientifically illiterate moron who should be nowhere near our nuclear weapons or the White House? He denies climate change despite the overwhelming evidence, and if you look at what the Republican Party is, it's a shell of what it once was under Lincoln. Republicans think that all the other countries are out to get us. Instead,we should just make friends and find our niche in a global economy. Trump has canceled research verifying greenhouse gas cuts. If America wants to remain a superpower without throwing its weight around to get what it wants, then it needs to move away from fossil fuels, every job in the fossil fuel industry could be outsourced to another industry, workers who maintain oil and natural gas pipelines can go into the plumbing industry, or on maintaining the coolant systems on nuclear reactors. Chemists could work on developing bioplastics, managers can be outsourced to any industry, the met

Religion Is Illogical

Hello Citizens of the World,      As we all know, there are so many contradictions in the Bible, yet Christians take it to be literal fact, even when presented with evidence, the minds of the most devoted still cling to their beliefs, so I've decided to add my two cents to the debate, and join the growing group of people who have called out religion for its many errors in history, ethics, and why it is illogical. The primary error in religion is that it's built on so many assumptions, it's continued existence may be the only true miracle in this world. Now to move on to scientific evidence disproving the existence of a god. First, the fossil record, if humans and dinosaurs lived at the same time, you'd expect to find some human fossils, yet none have been found. The next piece of evidence is the Grand Canyon, first, if Noah's flood actually occurred, you'd expect a Grand Canyon on every continent, except oh, wait, there isn't. The next piece of evidence per

Why Hasn't Religion Disappeared?

Hello All, Like most of you do as you browse the internet, I find religious people of varying religions trying to refute proven science. This begs the question, why does religion still exist? Shouldn't it have gone the way of the Titanic...down? By the way, I'm going to start calling out pastors at churches I've been to, this week's callout goes to Rev. Bruce Stevenson. Mr. Stevenson, I commuted a long way from [REDACTED] to check out your church and I am appalled by the number of children I saw in the service, surely someone like you has better things to do with your life than spread lies about in the form of an archaic, sexist, and racist religion. Back to why religion needs to die, I added that callout before getting to the main point because they are intertwined, as I said, there were children in that building, some as young as three or four years old, and they are already being indoctrinated into a religion based on archaic beliefs, and it has one Death Star style

Hold Religious Institutions Liable for Child Sexual Abuse

Hello All,    Many of you may be familiar with Pennsylvania's Catholic Sex Abuse Scandal, this is an example of why we need to hold Religious Institutions liable for Child Sexual Abuse. Emily Scheck: Why did it have to Come down to a Decision of the NCAA?

Hello all,    If you haven't heard about the case of Emily Scheck, a cross-country runner at Canisius College in New York, I'll give you a rundown. So her parents discovered that she is a lesbian and mandated that she come home to undergo conversion therapy, which per the 2018 state of the secular states, a report on the status of separation of church and government, as well a religious equality. The best part about the mandated conversion therapy, it's illegal for minors and Emily, who is in college, is CLEARLY legally an adult, so her defiance of her parents was as an adult, not a minor. Besides, the parents are legally obligated to support her until she turns 21, meaning when she is a junior.  (N.Y. Jud. Court Acts Law § 413)  per the Buffalo News, Emily is only 19, meaning the parents are still legally obligated to support her.  https://buffalonews.com/2018/11/16/disowned-being-gay-emily-scheck-canisius-ncaa-running-gay-lesbian/ Though her parents apparently termed

A Dissertation of Sorts on Homosexuality

Hello All,     Back in 2015, only four years ago in the historic Supreme Court case Obgerfell v. Hodges, where the Court legalized gay marriage, the Christian right went crazy. Some groups, such as the Westboro Baptist Church have begun protesting at military funerals, a deplorable act, as the families are grieving for the loss of a member they will never see again. In this essay, I will be stating the arguments for gay marriage, and then those against which I shall refute immediately thereafter. For. The arguments for gay marriage fall under equal rights, change in the concept of "traditional marriage",  law, both US and international, the fact that marriage is not simply for procreation, as infertile couples would then be barred from marriage as well. " Denying some people the option to marry is discriminatory and creates a second class of citizens.  On July 25, 2014 Miami-Dade County Circuit Court Judge Sarah Zabel ruled Florida's gay marriage ban unconstit
